Watch DisplayPort 1.2 Physical Layer Testing Event Streaming Online

Overview: As a display technology, DisplayPort has finding favor in industry which is evidenced by its newer embedded and mobile variants. DisplayPort enables a dynamic link between data source and the target display to optimize link in terms of power consumption and bit error rate and is the reason for its comprehensive test regimen. This presentation will briefly review the displayport interface and then dive into the requirements for physical layer testing from device control and fixturing, to the measurement device. Compliance testing is emphasized but testing for characterization will also be discussed. Who should view this webcast: Design and Validation Engineers working on DisplayPort 1.2 Presenter: Brian Fetz, Display Applications Product Manager, Agilent Brian Fetz is a Technical Program Manager from the Agilent Infiniium Oscilloscope product line. In this role he focuses on two key areas: Measurement Technologies and Digital Display interfaces. The Measurement Technology focus has, over the years, included Jitter Measurement where he led a technical team in evaluating industry jitter measurement solutions, Equalization techniques for assessing receiver compensation techniques, to De-Embedding and Embedding where oscilloscope acquisitions can be transformed or filtered to reveal unavailable node waveforms. He graduated from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo in 1983 and completed a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho in 1991. Before his current position, Brian worked on Agilent's Bluetooth and Signal Integrity solutions. Prior to that, his focus was in manufacturing where he has worked as a production and test engineer for Base Station and Mobile testing products. Brian is on the board of directors for the Video Electronics Standards Association and has served as the DisplayPort Compliance Test Specification editor. He is also a member of the board of directors for Vera Water and Power, his local community's utility. more
