Learn how Microsoft IT deployed the latest wireless technology in its efforts to improve employee productivity and enhanced security. During that time, she has worked with early WAN wireless data offerings using CDPD (Cellular Digital Packet Data) and PocketNet (the first web browser phone) from AT&T. As an associate technical fellow for the Boeing Company, Victoria worked on wireless LANs (WLANs) for airplanes with early testing of Wi-Fi-like devices and for wireless transmissions between the airplanes and the airport gates (GateLink), as well as early IEEE 802.11 WLAN implementations in the enterprise. Victoria has been a keynote speaker at ARINC in Geneva, Switzerland, about the design and testing of WLANs in the airline industry. Since joining Microsoft, Victoria architected the Microsoft IT wireless network. She has played a key role as Microsoft IT makes plans to upgrade the WLAN network to 802.11n, the latest IEEE standard upgrade for Wi-Fi which supports up to 600 Mbps throughput. She has been instrumental in seven patent filings for Microsoft around wireless interference detection and mitigation, ubiquitous wireless connectivity exchange, and TX BSS rate optimization.
